Profile Information

San Francisco, CA
About Me:
I'm the Youth & Conference Project Manager at Bioneers. My friends would describe me as a networker socialite. I love being around people, meeting new people, and finding common connections through like-minded interests. I love anything that involves being outside and active- hiking, biking, telemark skiing, running, laying in the grass, ultimate frisbee, star gazing, climbing, creek walkin'...the list goes on. I love to go out and see live music, but equally love my down time in good conversation or reading a good book. I'm an environmentalist at heart though you should know that I'm not a hippie. I am passionate about my work and love connecting with other inspiring people.

AND... I love my work at Bioneers!!

If you are between the ages of 14-23, or an educator under the age of 30, you can apply for a scholarship based on your need. We offer a Half Scholarship which covers half of the conference registration fees. The Realist Idealist and Cool People Care

Recently I've been feeling that California is a whole lot smaller than Vermont. Or maybe I meet more people here in California because...well, there's just a lot more people to meet! Through one of my friends, I was introduced to Jake Brewer, who is the Director of Partnerships for Idealist.org (Where I found this job at Bioneers by the way!). Turns out he knows some Vermont friends of mine that live in DC... they went bike riding the other day.... small wor… Continue

Youth Coverage in Bali Dec. 3-11th

During the UN Climate Conference, youth delegates from the US, Canada, and Australia came together, took action, and made their voices heard. On the Youth Climate Movement Blog (check it out if you haven't already) itsgettinghotinhere.org, one youth shared part of her experience. I want to share a bit of it with you here:

Hey Liz~

I am the US Youth Director of an initiative of the Art of Living Foundation called Mission Green Earth in partnership with UNEP and UN Millenium Campaign. This is our commitment to plant 100 million trees and have 100 million people stand up and take the Millenium development goals oath on either Oct 17th, 18th or 19th, 2008. WWW.STANDUPTAKEACTION.ORG

I would like to connect with you to see if you can help get Bioneers participation and support in this bottom up initiative across over 150 countries - a theme akin to BIONEERS.

You can read more about it on the blog post I just made.

I'll be going to Bioneers in Boulder, CO and went for years back in Bloomington, IN. Side note: You might know my friend Robin Tala who was a youth delegate to Bioneers a few years ago.

Look forward to speaking with you!

I'm very much looking forward to meeting you! You sound like you love the outdoors, and just enjoy having fun...

Great to meet you--virtually! And, I look forward to working together to make things happen :)

Liz,
the "Meet the Bioneers" video is posted here because of its 12 minute length. Youtube will not accept anything longer than 10 minutes. I have tried twice and it just will not work.
You can get the embed code by going to the video and below the video window there is a list of options one of which is "get embed code".
Hope that helps, sorry I didn't see your comment sooner, I'm not on this site every day.

I am very much looking forward to amplifying your goals here in Houston, Liz. I have been engaged with your generation for some time as a demographic group...cannot wait to see how much in line you guys are with what is being said about you. This will be fun.

Hi Liz.
I'm Priscila & Clevin's Mom from Houston Texas. They started a Bioneers club at their School. We all love the local and the national Bioneers conference. We all have had great time learning and sharing experiences from each other at the last conference. This year is going to be an awesome conference here. We started to plan ahead and hope that we can bring great minds together. I liked this window to be in touch with you and learning from your experiences. Blessings,
Cleusa
