Did anyone see the PBS special on Pete Seeger's songs of peace? I did not realize he wrote, "If I had a Hammer," and "We Shall Overcome." His songs are such a great contribution to the peace movement of the 1960's and they still hold power today.
I subscribed to Yes magazine about 3 weeks ago, Lucy so I'm hoping to read the article. I think we have a need for more creative activists. I do believe some of us relate to things visually or by music and written word. (I'm really speaking for myself here.) Contributions made, like Pete Seegers are lasting.

I work in pastels and watercolors but also belong to a writers group in Berkeley. Even though I live in northern California, I still meet with the group or drive to SF for occassional readings at bookstores. I work in pastels and watercolors.
