Big Oil and Gas, Big Coal, Big Nuclear, Big Trouble
I would like to say hello to all of you who dedicate your lives towards Environmental Remediation and especially to the movers and shakers who produce the Beaming Bioneers remote, yearly conferences.
I know, I was one. I co-produced the last Arizona conference in Flagstaff, AZ. It was a daunting work of love. My state has been so slow to GET IT! The Right-wingnuts have a paralyzing grip on the schools and media, but are slowly revealing their thuggish narcissism. Our very existence depends on the good people who are Bioneer-conscious.
Here, now, I would like to REALLY introduce my spirit, heart and soul to the community that first stole my heart at Bozeman, Montana's second Beaming Bioneers Conference in 2003.

Big Energy exists because it is tolerated; it is even loved, but in a twisted way. Our culture's willingness to embrace narcissistic behavior disturbs this writer. I will attempt to show a way into the light at the tunnel's end. Perhaps, not an end, but a new chapter in humanity's leap into a real future: one of love, beauty and harmony that really works and is hard at work making the best that this life has to offer. The words are hard to find that illuminate the betrayal of our own kind towards its own! But there are ways to find the REAL TRUTH that has been purposefully hidden from ordinary Americans and their European cousins for too long.
It is time that Americans and all nations, calling themselves, loving and caring democracies wake-up to the facts of life. We all will die and that is no joke. While we are alive in this moment-to-moment, we strive to make it the best possible happy experience that can be had. One problem, though, just will not let us go on la-di-da, day in and day out: It's the mess of trash, radioactive waste, choking air and foul water that we hide or dismiss to our collective denial, from the early days of the Industrial Revolution right up to this very moment. We run to the mountains, the oceans and the desert, like I have, to escape the blight. The world is finite. We must act, NOW......!!!!!!
Above, I could have been talking about a dog's life, when I used "we". In fact, I used to live like a dog, when a young college student at Kent State in the 60's, amidst piles of dirty clothes, dishes and empty beer cans, but I digress. I remember a horrible, fateful day in May of 1970 when friends of mine and yours, maybe, were gunned down by their own government for protesting the war and other injustices of the day. They were shot down, my God, for just assembling to express grievances!
Jumping ahead to today, we have yet to repeat this astounding act of terror upon our own population for exercising their Constitutional rights. However the, 12,000 lb dinosaur has reared its ugly head from under the beds of our fanciful minds and has reeked its havoc on our homes, family, neighborhood, village, town, city and planet. That fossil has unleashed Global Warming and it's out of control and growing in size. Like the "Radioactive Man" in a B-movie from the '50's it is about to swallow the earth. Where did we go wrong and how can we save ourselves from what we, collectively, have done to our one true home?
Dare we protest? What do we do? The answers are obvious. Find out what is REALLY going on around us. Turn off the TV! If just for a month, rent a computer or buy one or go to the public library and use theirs. Discover the Internet. If you don't want to throw away your TV, start watching C-Span, a wonderful liar-proof media that shows our government at work for good or bad. That's right, even though C-Span doesn't lie, certain players in our government do lie; they lie big and often. You need the Internet to find information that will corroborate what the liars are saying. The good-people will usually cite their sources. I'll address Radio in a moment. Not to get ahead of this story, the Internet is home to liars, too. Beware and double or triple-check your sources and keep an Internet Site Collection* of dependable, truthful sites for later use.
Try a vision exercise with me. A vision of the world is a good way to understand everything, together, all at once. Einstein thought out his entire Theory of Relativity using this type of "thought exercise". Step away from C-Span and open your mind through the door of cable and network news as we move further away from the truth that we KNOW up close and personal to a pseudo-truth of double-talk and spin. They will tell you ALL you need to know, no work, no investigations, just believe what they say, because they are so professional, especially the "Barby Doll" anchors and the funny, good ole boys. We have come upon a modern-day "Alice in Wonderland" where up is down, war is peace, pollution is okay and poverty is your fault.
Unbelievably grotesque amounts of MONEY run these operations, all owned or controlled by: Big Oil and Gas, Big Coal, Big Nuclear and Wall Street plus a smidgen of military contractors and multi-media corporations. How can we REALLY know what is going on? I must say now to my fellow vision-traveler, with a little effort, anybody can tell a liar from the REAL DEAL. There are some politicians that do not lie for their keep and there are honest broadcast anchors who live the talk they preach on every news broadcast: i.e. the majority of the House of Representatives do not lie and cable people like Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermann and Rachael Maddow of MSNBC do not lie. It's all about what you know through personal investigation before an encounter with a stranger in a suit or tailored dress who will change the conversation with the usual theatrics.
Follow me now to Radio and the radio talk-show hosts that take call-ins from listeners, live, who have questions about what is REALLY going on. Let's move to a land where Radio is king and those who own transmitters are listened to with a push of a button. It takes nearly a million dollars or more to broadcast a powerful radio station. Virtually all but a few are owned by, you know: Big, private money tied to Big Energy one way or another. Their niche is a lock on uncontested propaganda spewed by hate-speech pros and their uncorroborated claims of "NOTHING WRONG AMERICA!". They admonish all neysayers with aphorisms like: "Things would be okay if those protesters were all locked up...". This talking point is often heard like a drumbeat to the ears of right-wing, brainwashed and uninformed listeners, 24/7.
The truthseeker stations are virtually confined to the Internet. Imagine a vision landscape of the media needed for a transparent democracy: Broadband Internet for everyone, community, Internet and cable TV, broadcast TV, print and electronic newspapers, Internet and broadcast radio. Ponder this vision. Take time to examen the evidence outside the mass media and compare. You will be chilled to the bone to find that our planet is in a REAL fix. The polluters must stop. The world needs a Cap and Trade System so polluters pay bigtime to pollute and will change, screaming and lashing out, but will stop the killing pollution. Green Technologies will curb and eventually stop the catostophic increases of CO2 emmisions.
Big energy is currently fighting this with all their might. They are determined as if their lives depended on it. Narcism, like I said above, is repugnant to this writer. Hopefully, after a 2-term Obama Presidency, work will continue in the Green realm of Restoring the ravishes of over 100 years of unbridled over-consumption. Restoration Technologies are long over due to revive our dead and dying ecosystems: estuaries, oceans and lakes and their beaches, the arctic and antarctic, extensive forests, wild animal migration corridors and scary frankenstein-like, mono-culture food industry.
We will need an educational system to teach new students the physical sciences, life sciences and social sciences and civics to march our country and the world into the 21st century with a NEW VISION. A view of a life, moment-to-moment, enjoying the fruits of our efforts with Concentrating Solar Energy Plants, Photovoltaic Systems, Tidal Energy Converters, Geothermal Plants and Wind Farms transmitting energy world-wide on a Smart Grid. Imagine Vision Seekers, a world-class rail system linking major cities to inner-city rail, in-turn linking to bio-fuel and electric trolley or bus systems that can take you right to your house or to an open-space park on the outskirts of town with lakes and green meadow and streams and wildlife for a walk or picnic. Imagine a Washington and Wall Street with fewer crooks who really get caught and a military paired-down to a defensive force, rather than the conquering one that we have now.
Want it sooner than later? After work, during lunch and after dinner, get on the computer, call your representatives. Get involved. Time is REALLY running out to stop a manmade ecological disaster. Thank you and Goddess save us.
