Asheville Bioneers For the Earth

Dear Bioneers of Asheville, in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains! We're looking forward to seeing you, your friends and colleagues at our next meeting on Thursday May 15th, 7pm (potluck) followed by council and DVD
at the BreathDance Studio, 283 Pisgah View Road, a bit west of West Asheville; directions below.

We are really excited to present the work of William McDonough, who is the founder of William McDonough + Partners, Architecture and Community Design, an internationally recognized design firm practicing ecologically, socially, and economically intelligent architecture and planning in the U.S. and abroad, home based in Charlottesville, VA. "Our buildings and communities embody enduring standards of design quality and economic, ecological, and social responsibility."As Asheville grows, this is timely and important information for us to take in account.

Two dates have been set for our Bioneers/ Zev Friedman mycorestoration project: Tuesday May 13th and Friday May 23rd; meet at 8am EarthFare (Westgate) parking lot to carpool, and get some snacks or lunch.
Be prepared for a fun and fascinating day using mushrooms in service to our Mother Earth! Please RSVP to Zev directly so he will know who to expect: 828-279-2870.

Also we'll have an update on our Asheville Building Convergence - ABC - collaboration in what will be an incredible community restoration event, June 19th - 21st. We need people to help during the closing ceremony on Saturday June 21st - Summer Solstice - from about 4-8pm, and maybe more. http://www.ashevillage.org/

From Patton Ave
From Downtown Asheville go west and after the French Broad River bridge, continue 3 miles and just past the Goodwill on the left, turn right at the traffic light onto Old Haywood Road. Go 0.9 miles and turn right onto Starnes Cove Road. Go 1/2 mile and turn right on Pisgah View Road. #283 will be the 5th house on left (yellow with stone chimney) - come up driveway and park on left.
From Hwy 40
From Downtown Asheville take 240 W to 40 W. to Exit 44 (Enka-Candler). Go left at the light and go about one block and go left at the light after the BP Station (there is no street sign.) Go 1/2 mile then left at Starnes Cove Rd. Go 1/2 mile then right at Pisgah View Rd. to 5th house on left (yellow with stone chimney) - come up driveway and park on left.
