Anyone have any information on this?? If he does get the position, does that mean the organization G4all will be disbanded?

Looks like it is confirmed! It will be interesting to see how this evolves. Exciting time in America and the World right now. I first discovered Van Jones @ a Bioneers satellite conference. Congratulations to him and all other people and organizations working on social and environmental justice issues in the world today. Having a leader like him advising an Administration like President Obama's is a great, promising thing for our collective future.

You can hear Van Jones' powerful message all over again as well as an interesting panel discussion presented by Green for All.

hi J.T. I got this in my inbox today from Van Jones/Green For All. Follow this link to read the full e-communication as a web page.

In the e-mail it includes (which will answer your above question):

Special Advisor For Green Jobs: Me
I will be at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. My job will be to help shape the administration's energy and climate policy, so that climate solutions produce jobs and justice for all Americans.

I am going to be the Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

Dispelling Some Rumors
If you've had your ear to the blogosphere in the past few days, you may have heard some rumors. The most prevalent call me the new "Green Jobs Czar."

But I am not going to be any kind of "Czar."

Thanks Julie and others for responding. I got the same email from G4All. I am still figuring out the details of the various "czar" positions that are being granted, was just utilizing / copying that language from the grist link. It is amazing how fast news can travel with twitter, digg, etc.!!

It will be interesting to learn more about Green For All's new leader Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins.

pasted from your link from Green For All:
"The other magical development is the leader who will replace me at Green For All's helm: Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins.

If you were writing a script or a novel, you simply couldn't invent a better leader than Phaedra to take Green For All - and the entire movement for green jobs - to the next level.

As nearly everyone who lives in California already knows, Phaedra is a true superstar - widely recognized as one of America's most brilliant, creative and successful social justice leaders. She helped to expand health care access in San Jose and across California. She also helped to raise the minimum wage for low-income families in the South Bay - twice."

A great canidate for future bioneers plenary perhaps... It is very important that Bioneers makes accessible such a diverse selection of speakers each year and cultivates engagement in communities all over the world each fall on pressing issues and the solutions that are being developed / pioneered. Their leadership on this is truly remarkable / admirable to me, as watching Van Jones and other speakers a few years ago did a lot to shift/realign the direction of my life. Hopefully the conference will continue to have great and meaningful impact.

Yes, J.T. I agree with everything you've just said! I, too, will be curious to learn more about Phaedra. She sounds like a pretty amazing leader. And, I'm looking forward to this year's Bioneers Conference. i'm planning on going. This year is the 20th anniversary--I can only imagine that it'll be an extremely stellar experience.
